Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality surgical care to pediatric patients, including neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of pediatric surgery privileges
- Conduct daily ward rounds and formulate multidisciplinary treatment plans
- Supervise junior medical staff and participate in their training and evaluation
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with hospital standards
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits
- Provide on call coverage and respond to emergencies as per departmental schedule
- Uphold patient rights, confidentiality, and safety protocols
- Engage in research, publications, and continuous medical education activities
- Collaborate with other specialties for complex case management and referrals
Requirements
- Medical degree from a recognized institution
- Completion of accredited residency and fellowship in Pediatric Surgery
- Board certification in Pediatric Surgery (e.g., American Board, Royal College, or equivalent)
- Minimum 7 years of experience post specialization, with at least 2 years in a tertiary care center
- Eligibility for licensing with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision making skills
