- This critical role involves providing expert neonatal care to newborns within a public healthcare setting, ensuring access to quality medical services for the community.
- As a Consultant Neonatologist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat infants with complex medical needs, particularly in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
- Your work will support the health and survival of vulnerable newborns while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team committed to public health and patient-centered care.
- Key Responsibilities:* Provide specialized, compassionate care to critically ill and premature newborns in a government healthcare facility.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct necessary neonatal procedures and interventions, adhering to established clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, nurses, and allied health professionals to optimize neonate outcomes.
- Educate and counsel families regarding their infant’s health status, treatment options, and prognosis.
- Participate in government health initiatives and programs aimed at improving neonatal care and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Engage in continuous professional development and support quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- Experience working in government or public healthcare settings is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in neonatal assessment, diagnosis, and management.
- Ability to perform essential neonatal procedures with proficiency.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to public health principles and providing equitable care.
