Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for premature, critically ill, and high risk newborns in the NICU
- Diagnose and manage neonatal conditions including respiratory distress, neonatal sepsis, congenital anomalies, metabolic disorders, and complications of prematurity
- Perform advanced neonatal procedures such as neonatal resuscitation, endotracheal intubation, umbilical line placement, central venous access, and ventilator management
- Lead neonatal emergency response and stabilization efforts in delivery rooms and neonatal units
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for neonatal patients
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, pediatric subspecialists, pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing teams
- Participate in antenatal counseling for high risk pregnancies and expected neonatal complications
- Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, and NICU nursing staff
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Board Certification in Pediatrics
- Fellowship or Subspecialty Certification in Neonatology / Neonatal Perinatal Medicine
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing as a Consultant Neonatologist in a Level III or Level IV NICU
- Extensive experience in neonatal intensive care, advanced neonatal resuscitation, and ventilator management
- Eligibility for licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)

About The Role
- We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Neonatologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Saudi Arabia.
- The successful candidate will provide expert care to critically ill and premature newborns in a state of the art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), ensuring the highest standards of neonatal care and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for premature, critically ill, and high risk newborns in the NICU.
- Diagnose and manage neonatal conditions including respiratory distress, neonatal sepsis, congenital anomalies, metabolic disorders, and complications of prematurity.
- Perform advanced neonatal procedures such as neonatal resuscitation, endotracheal intubation, umbilical line placement, central venous access, and ventilator management.
- Lead neonatal emergency response and stabilization efforts in delivery rooms and neonatal units.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for neonatal patients.
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, pediatric subspecialists, pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing teams.
- Participate in antenatal counseling for high risk pregnancies and expected neonatal complications.
- Ensure compliance with NICU protocols, infection prevention measures, and patient safety standards.
- Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, fellows, and NICU nursing staff.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Contribute to continuing medical education and departmental development programs.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Pediatrics.
- Fellowship or Subspecialty Certification in Neonatology / Neonatal Perinatal Medicine.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing as a Consultant Neonatologist in a Level III or Level IV NICU.
- Extensive experience in neonatal intensive care, advanced neonatal resuscitation, and ventilator management.
- Strong clinical decision making and leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Eligibility for licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Western Board Certification (UK CCT, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, Australian Fellowship, or equivalent).
- Experience in tertiary care hospitals and high volume NICUs.
- Research, teaching, and academic involvement in neonatology.
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or equivalent.
