Responsibilities
- Diagnose and evaluate patients with general surgical conditions through comprehensive clinical assessments
- Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures in accordance with internationally accepted clinical guidelines
- Provide pre operative, intra operative, and post operative patient management
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and diagnostic investigations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient medical records in the EMR system
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality meetings, and peer reviews
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals
- Respond promptly to emergency surgical cases and participate in on call duty schedules
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, surgical risks, and postoperative care
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME), departmental meetings, and professional development activities
Requirements
- Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification in General Surgery from a recognized international medical board
- Valid professional license or eligibility for licensure from a relevant UAE health authority
- Fellowship in General Surgery preferred
