Role Description

This is a full-time Consultant Fetal Medicine role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Provide advanced antenatal care, perform and interpret fetal ultrasounds, and manage high-risk pregnancies.

Work with multidisciplinary teams to assess maternal and fetal health and coordinate care.

Develop individualized treatment plans, counsel patients and families, maintain documentation, and follow evidence-based guidelines.

Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance, teaching, training, mentoring, and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Strong medical foundation with specialized fetal medicine and maternal-fetal health expertise.
  • Experience working with physicians and multidisciplinary clinical teams on complex cases.
  • Competence in emergency medicine and acute obstetric care.
  • Cardiology background related to fetal and maternal cardiac conditions is an advantage.
  • Experience in training, teaching, or mentoring medical staff, residents, or students.
  • Board certification or equivalent specialist qualification in obstetrics and gynecology with fetal or maternal-fetal medicine subspecialty training.
  • Valid UAE medical license or eligibility for licensing.
  • Strong communication and counseling skills.
  • Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care and international clinical guidelines.
  • English proficiency is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced antenatal care for patients with fetal and maternal-fetal health needs.
  • Perform and interpret fetal ultrasounds.
  • Manage high-risk pregnancies in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assess maternal and fetal health and respond to urgent maternal-fetal situations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Counsel patients and families about complex medical findings and care options.
  • Coordinate care with obstetricians and other specialists.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Follow evidence-based guidelines and contribute to quality improvement and clinical governance.
  • Participate in teaching, training, and mentoring junior medical staff when required.
  • Support continuous professional development within the department.
