Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services with specialized focus on weight management, obesity prevention, and related metabolic health conditions
- Assess and manage patients with overweight, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and associated comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia
- Conduct detailed clinical evaluations, perform risk stratification, order and interpret diagnostic investigations
- Develop individualized, evidence based weight management plans
- Deliver structured lifestyle modification programs including nutrition counseling, physical activity guidance, behavioral therapy support, and pharmacological management
- Coordinate with dietitians, endocrinologists, bariatric specialists, and other multidisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary obesity case discussions
- Support community based health promotion and wellness programs focused on obesity prevention
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completion of recognized specialist training in Family Medicine
- Board certification or equivalent qualification in Family Medicine
- Valid license or eligibility for licensure as a Consultant Family Medicine with UAE health authorities (DOH/DHA/MOH)
- Strong clinical background in Family Medicine with special focus on Obesity and Weight Management
- Proven expertise in lifestyle medicine and chronic disease management
- Experience in multidisciplinary care coordination
- Strong understanding of behavioral health and psychological principles related to obesity
- Demonstrated ability in case management and long term follow up
- Experience in community health and preventive medicine initiatives
- Proficiency in English and Arabic

Role Description
- The Consultant Family Medicine – Obesity & Weight Management role is a full time, on site position based in Abu Dhabi.
- Provide comprehensive primary care services with a specialized focus on weight management, obesity prevention, and related metabolic health conditions.
- Assess and manage patients with overweight and obesity, metabolic syndrome, and associated comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia.
- Conduct detailed clinical evaluations, perform risk stratification, order and interpret relevant diagnostic investigations, and develop individualized, evidence based weight management plans.
- Deliver structured lifestyle modification programs, including nutrition counseling, physical activity guidance, behavioral therapy support, and pharmacological management where appropriate.
- Coordinate with dietitians, endocrinologists, bariatric specialists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and regulatory standards, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Strong clinical background in Family Medicine with a special focus on Obesity and Weight Management, including prevention and management of overweight, obesity, and related metabolic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia.
- Proven expertise in lifestyle medicine and chronic disease management, with the ability to design and implement individualized weight management plans including nutrition, physical activity, behavioral modification, and pharmacotherapy where appropriate.
- Experience in multidisciplinary care coordination, working closely with dietitians, endocrinologists, bariatric surgeons, psychologists, and allied health professionals.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health and psychological principles related to obesity, including patient motivation, counseling, adherence strategies, and long term lifestyle change support.
- Demonstrated ability in case management and long term follow up, ensuring continuity of care for patients with complex metabolic and lifestyle related conditions.
- Experience in community health and preventive medicine initiatives, including obesity prevention programs, public health education, and wellness promotion activities.
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completion of recognized specialist training in Family Medicine; board certification or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Valid license or eligibility for licensure as a Consultant Family Medicine with relevant UAE health authorities (DOH/DHA/MOH).
- Strong clinical competence in evidence based medicine, excellent diagnostic and clinical decision making skills, particularly in metabolic and lifestyle related disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and educate patients for sustained behavioral change.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic is must.
