Position Summary

The consultant will provide advanced medical and surgical care across otolaryngology, with a strong focus on head and neck surgery, airway reconstruction, and complex airway management.

The role includes outpatient consultations, elective and emergency surgeries, multidisciplinary collaboration, and service development in a Dubai healthcare institution.

Care must be evidence-based, patient-centered, and aligned with international standards and UAE regulatory requirements.

Clinical Care and Surgery

  • Evaluate and manage adult and pediatric ENT conditions in outpatient and follow-up settings.
  • Perform advanced head and neck surgery, including thyroid, parathyroid, salivary gland, neck mass, and oncologic procedures.
  • Manage difficult airway cases, tracheostomy care, airway reconstruction, and endoscopic airway interventions.
  • Perform endoscopic sinus, otologic, laryngeal, and head and neck oncology procedures.
  • Manage emergency ENT cases, including airway obstruction, epistaxis, and trauma.

Collaboration and Governance

  • Collaborate with anesthesiology, oncology, radiology, pulmonology, and ICU teams for integrated patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and airway management committees.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with DHA standards.

Education and Service Development

  • Teach and supervise residents, fellows, and allied health professionals.
  • Engage in research, publications, and continuous professional development.
  • Support service development, protocol creation, and strategic planning for ENT and head and neck services.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent.
  • Completion of residency and fellowship training in otolaryngology or ENT.
  • Western Board Certification or equivalent, including UK CCT, American Board, Canadian FRCSC, or Australian/New Zealand Fellowship.
  • Eligibility for a DHA Consultant License.
  • Minimum 8 years of post-specialty qualification experience, or experience meeting DHA criteria.
  • Proven expertise in complex airway management and head and neck surgical oncology.
  • Subspecialty fellowship training in head and neck surgery and/or airway surgery is preferred.
  • Experience in a tertiary-care or high-volume ENT and head and neck center is advantageous.
