Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose patients with cardiac conditions requiring surgical intervention
- Perform complex cardiac surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs/replacements, and minimally invasive surgeries
- Manage pre operative and post operative patient care to ensure optimal recovery and outcomes
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists, anesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to standards and protocols of the private healthcare sector
- Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Medical degree with board certification in cardiac surgery or a related specialty
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cardiac surgery, preferably within the private healthcare sector
- Proficiency in both traditional and minimally invasive cardiac surgical techniques
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient centered approach
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical excellence, ethics, and patient safety
- Experience in mentoring and teaching junior staff is an advantage
