Job Summary
Provide specialized anesthesia care for adult and pediatric cardiac surgeries, interventional cardiology procedures, and complex cardiovascular interventions.
The role requires expertise in perioperative management, TEE, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia for cardiac, thoracic, and major vascular surgery.
- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluation, risk assessment, optimization, and planning.
- Administer anesthesia for CABG, valve, congenital heart, transplant, and aortic surgeries.
- Support TAVI/TAVR, MitraClip, electrophysiology, and cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Perform and interpret intraoperative TEE.
- Manage advanced invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
- Provide perioperative critical care and respond to cardiac emergencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary cardiac care teams.
- Educate patients and families and maintain DHA-compliant documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement, research, continuing education, and staff mentoring.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a recognized anesthesiology residency.
- Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in cardiac anesthesia.
- Board certification or equivalent in anesthesiology.
- Perioperative TEE certification is highly preferred.
- DHA eligibility, DHA license, or eligibility for Consultant licensure in Dubai.
Experience and Competencies
- Minimum of 8–10 years of post-specialization cardiac anesthesia experience.
- Extensive adult and pediatric cardiac surgery and interventional cardiac procedure experience.
- Tertiary care hospital experience with an established cardiothoracic surgery program is highly preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, crisis management, communication, organization, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, professional ethics, patient-centered care, and continuing development.
