You will manage construction projects from planning and design through to implementation, ensuring they are delivered safely and effectively. Working across the Estates team and wider organisation, you will balance stakeholder requirements while delivering projects to agreed time, cost and quality standards.
Manage the planning, design, development and delivery of construction projects in line with UKAEA’s Property Strategy and Development Plan.
Provide technical input into civil, mechanical and electrical designs for new and existing buildings.
Coordinate internal and external design and delivery teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

Manage stakeholders with differing requirements and ensure appropriate design standards and soft landings principles are applied.
Develop and maintain building specifications for multipurpose scientific facilities incorporating offices, laboratories and workshops.
Manage project budgets, contracts, programmes and performance reporting.
Identify, manage and report project and organisational risks.
Apply Building Information Modelling Level 2 requirements to new-build projects.
Ensure projects comply with Construction Design and Management Regulations, current construction legislation and UKAEA procedures.
Use project and design management systems, including ASITE, to support effective project delivery.
A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a construction discipline.
Membership of an appropriate professional body, such as the Chartered Institute of Building or Association for Project Management.
Proven experience of managing the design and delivery of construction projects.
Recent experience of delivering construction projects within a publicly funded environment and working within relevant regulatory and internal procedures.
Knowledge and practical experience of Building Information Modelling Level 2 and construction legislation, including CDM Regulations.
Strong stakeholder, budget, programme and risk-management skills.
UKAEA is an onsite organisation, and this role requires regular onsite presence (usually between 3-5 days in any given week) in line with business needs. We actively support flexible working arrangements where this is compatible with the role .
