Construction Inspector

CSEngineering is seeking a Construction Inspector to support inspection, surveillance, quality assurance, and documentation for complex construction and renovation projects at a Department of Defense installation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience interpreting plans and specifications, verifying workmanship, and documenting construction progress.

• Perform onsite inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with contract requirements, drawings, specifications, schedules, codes, and safety standards.
• Monitor construction progress, sequencing, workmanship, materials, equipment installation, and contractor quality-control activities.
• Review contractor submittals, progress schedules, payment requests, and project documentation.
• Interpret plans and specifications, identify conflicts or field issues, and provide technical recommendations to support resolution.
• Inspect delivered and installed materials and equipment; document nonconforming work and support corrective-action verification.
• Maintain daily inspection logs, safety observations, formal reports, deficiency records, and records of field changes and project discussions.
• Participate in preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, final inspections, and project closeout activities.

• At least three (3) years of extensive construction and/or contract-related experience.
• Degree in Construction Management or Construction Technology.
• Experience inspecting construction materials, workmanship, utilities, and building systems.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract requirements.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices, inspection methods, construction trades, and applied mathematics.
