Responsibilities
- Act as a health and safety generalist, supporting the management of health, safety and fire risks
- Business partner the Development Team and ensure Birmingham Airport effectively discharges its client duties
- Support the Development Team to ensure Birmingham airport contractors effectively manage their risks and the associated risks to passengers
- Deliver practical, proportionate health and safety advice in a complex, high risk environment
- Ensure accidents and incidents are appropriately investigated and actions agreed and tracked
- Undertake assurance activities, including audits, to ensure compliance with set standards
- Support the development and delivery of health and safety training aligned to risk profiles
- Produce reports, action plans and policy documentation to support compliance and improvement
- Maintain up to date professional knowledge and continuous professional development
Requirements
- NEBOSH National Diploma, or equivalent
- Experience of working in a similar role
- Experience of CDM / Development works and projects
- Good understanding of a range of health safety and fire legislation, including an awareness of the application and management of CDM
- Experience of providing health and safety advice and support
- Experiences of undertaking audits
- Previous experience of implementing health and safety legislation and developing best practice
- Ability to provide targeted and competent health and safety advice to a range of users

Job Overview
- We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Construction and Compliance H&S Manager to join our Health, Safety and Fire Team at Birmingham Airport.
- This role will support and business partner our Development Team with a dotted line to the Head of Development.
- This role will play a key part in ensuring that our ambitious development programme is delivered safely but at pace.
- You will play an important role in providing professional advice, supporting statutory compliance, and contributing to strategic safety initiatives and cultural change across the wider airport community.
