The Opportunity
Assembler AI uses computer vision and artificial intelligence to help manufacturers improve quality, reduce waste, increase throughput, and support frontline employees.
The founding Computer Vision Engineer will work directly with the Head of AI on perception models, datasets, and evaluation for live production environments.
The role emphasizes applied problem solving, training data, honest evaluation, and understanding model behavior in real footage.
What You Will Do
- Train, evaluate, and improve vision models on real production video.
- Own training datasets, including data sourcing, selection, label schemas, and annotation quality review.
- Design deployment-focused evaluations and communicate results clearly and honestly.
- Investigate model failures in footage and identify their root causes.
- Work with the annotation team to target data likely to improve performance.
- Run experiments end to end from research question through training runs to actionable results.
Requirements
- Have a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
