Role overview

Support composite layouts, dimensional checks, part preparation, bonding, curing, and mechanical integration at Rocket Lab’s Albuquerque site.

The position may be hired at the Composites Technician I, II, or III level.

Responsibilities

Assemble structures using bonding and fastener applications, and laminate composite materials.
Prepare parts for vacuum bagging and perform vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven or autoclave curing.
Measure parts with precision tools and fit cores and thermal protection systems.
Integrate mechanical hardware and apply standard aerospace composite construction techniques.
Work on other local products or travel as required.

Level qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required for all technician levels.
Technician II requires 2+ years in composites, laminations, military equipment maintenance, or specified electronics and manufacturing equipment work.
Technician III requires 5+ years in composites, laminations, military equipment maintenance, or specified electronics and manufacturing equipment work.

Preferred qualifications

8+ years of composites or laminations experience.
Basic math skills.
Familiarity with pneumatic, hand, and power tools, precision measurement instruments, prints, and material data sheets.
Shop organization, cleanliness, and personal protective equipment use.

Physical requirements

The role requires extended standing or walking, including at least 8 hours, and may require climbing ladders and working in tight spaces.
The role requires lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted and repetitive bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, pulling, stooping, stretching, and crawling.
