We are seeking a full-time Component Engineering Intern at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting Component Engineers or component supply chain activities. Essential Functions Research and collect component environmental compliance information which would include web searching and contacting suppliers and manufacturers Maintain various component databases Assist team members in compiling information for specification control drawings Assist team members in cooperation with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, and suppliers on all component issues Assist team members in component failure analysis and problem resolution Work with suppliers to resolve component problems to identify "root cause" and permanent solutions Perform component evaluations and qualifications Work with Component Engineers to identify and promote the use of preferred components Basic Qualifications Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software or other related field Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrates a working knowledge of all electronic component types Demonstrates proficiency using IBM-PC systems and applications, including Microsoft Office applications Desired Qualifications Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) Familiarity with all electronic component types AutoCAD or other Computer Aided Design (CAD)
