Position Summary
The Community Inclusion Worker is responsible for the overall well-being of the client, while developing social, employment, and community skills.
Community Inclusion Workers act with a client-first mentality to ensure the client’s needs are met at all times and the safety of the client is of first priority.
Qualifications
- Some related experience or education an asse
- Certifications: First Aid and CPR certificate, Mandt certification (we can train those you require this)
- Must demonstrate clear, direct, and professional verbal and written English communication skills
- BC Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle an asset
- Must demonstrate experience with client goal setting and attainment, personal scheduling, and time management
- Must demonstrate ability to model appropriate behavior to clients, such as professionalism, ethical judgment personal integrity, self-awareness and positive social interaction, in order to obtain volunteer work
- Must demonstrate a strong sense of personal boundaries and ability to enforce those boundaries respectfully with client and caregivers
- Must demonstrate the ability to relate supportively to a person with developmental disabilities and/or mental health issues
- Must be able to support clients in a small group
- Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with community resources and within a team setting
- Must demonstrate resourcefulness to seek out appropriate support for client, caregivers, and/or self
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check
