Community Home Support Worker

Assists participants to enjoy a lifestyle designed to support their functional ability and activities of daily living.

Assists participants with their personal care as required in the Day Health Centre.

Assistance is provided in a manger that demonstrates the principles of appropriate choice, dignity, independence and individuality in accordance with the CHOICE Program goals, values and organizational policies and procedures.

Perform other related duties as required.

Maintains safe work practices and safe environment for participants.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, provides support to participants of the CHOICE program.

Tasks may include providing behavioral and emotional support to participant, assists participants in a variety of recreation and social activities, care of pets belonging to the CHOICE program, assisting with rehabilitation activities, as required.

Grade 12 Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.

Graduate of a Health Care Aide program leading to a license by the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).

Current registration with the CLHA is required.
