Validate integration with:
Datacentre electrical distribution (LV/HV)
UPS systems and static transfer switches
BMS/SCAD/PLC controls

Documentation & Compliance

Stakeholder Management
Liaise with OEMs
Coordinate with electrical contractors, consultants, project managers, and datecentre operations
Provide operator training and technical support post-handover
Report weekly the status of all projects – cost, payment milestones, delivery or technical issues
Sales – Work closely with sales teams to provide technical input during project scoping, support proposal development, and ensure customer requirements are accurately translated into commissioning deliverables
Service – Coordinate with Service teams to ensure smooth transition from commissioning to ongoing maintenance, provide technical support, and share knowledge on system performance and issues.
Supply Chain – Liaise with Supply Chain to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials, resolve logistics issues, and confirm availability of required components for commissioning activities
Manufacturing - Collaborate with Manufacturing to verify equipment build quality, resolve technical issues, and ensure products meet design and project specifications prior to commissioning.
Product Managers - Engage with Product Managers to provide feedback on product performance, support product improvements, and ensure correct application of equipment in projects.
Suppliers/ OEMs - Coordinate with suppliers and OEMs for technical support, troubleshooting, and validation of equipment performance during commissioning activities.
Electrical contractors - Work alongside electrical contractors to ensure correct installation, integration, and testing of systems in accordance with design and standards.
Consultants - Interface with consultants to align commissioning activities with project specifications, design intent, and compliance requirements.
Customers - Engage with customers to provide updates, ensure expectations are met, deliver training, and support successful project handover.
Datacentre Operators - Collaborate with datacentre operators to ensure systems meet operational requirements, safety standards, and critical environment procedures.
Inspect evaluate and test as necessary all engineering project related equipment, materials and works completed by OEM manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors and manufacturing / service departments to ensure it meets the project specified output performance, quality requirements and applicable Australian standards.
Ensure all my activities with my engineering role are aligned with the requirements of the CAPS ISO9001 system and the process defined within CAPS Promapp
Where required, participate fully in audits of engineering process by internal and external auditors
Where required participate in process improvement activities and projects
Map and update key engineering processes into Promapp as part of our regular engineering activity
Ensure accurate timesheets are kept updated every week so that:
The engineering cost centre accurately reflects chargeable vs non chargeable activity
The Pronto jobs reflect a true account of engineering effort required in execution
Conduct other reasonable engineering and business-related duties, within my capacity and qualifications, as assigned by my manager from time to time.
To work efficiently and comply with all company policies and procedures.
Complete all training requirements assigned to me, in person, or on the CAPS PDP platform as required
Always operate within any limits assigned to me under the CAPS Authority Matrix for expenditure and quotations.
