Commis II - Hot Kitchen

Position Summary

Kitchen Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing food items.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare cold foods and serve food in proper portions using appropriate receptacles.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test food for doneness and monitor food quality during preparation.
• Set up and break down the work station.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check and ensure the correct temperature of appliances and food.

Safety and Team Duties

• Follow company, safety, security, hygiene, and quality policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance and protect confidential information and company assets.
• Communicate professionally, maintain positive working relationships, and support team goals.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• No license or certification is specified.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
