Position Summary
Prepare ingredients and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
Monitor food quality and temperatures while preparing and serving food in proper portions.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness, follow safety procedures, and support the team in reaching common goals.
Core Responsibilities
- Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients for cooking.
- Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Set up and break down the work station and serve food in proper portions.
- Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, maintain positive working relationships, and respond appropriately to colleagues' concerns.
Preferred Qualifications
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
- At least one year of related work experience is preferred.
- No supervisory experience, license, or certification is required.
- The role requires extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking and handling objects up to 25 pounds.
