Commis Chef

Located in the heart of Adelaide Central Market, Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets brings neighbourhood stories to life through distinctive hospitality and memorable dining experiences.

We're looking for a passionate Commis Chef who is eager to develop their culinary career, work with local seasonal produce, and help deliver exceptional food and service standards in a dynamic team environment.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Making every single meal a feast for the eyes and a treat for the tastebuds

Taking ownership of your workstation – keeping on top of supplies, equipment and waste

Being cleaner than clean to meet or exceed local cleanliness and hygiene laws

Helping with washing up and other kitchen duties where needed

Taking on other ad-hoc duties like a true team player

Commercial Cookery qualification and 1-2 years of previous culinary experience

An understanding of HACCP and the ability to comply with local laws on food handling

Must hold a valid Safe Food Handling Certificate

Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to

The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 23 kg, which can also involve bending and kneeling

A good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths

The flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, nights and public holidays

Must meet the legal requirements to work in Australia without limitations or restrictions
