Job Description
The Commis Chef prepares food items, supports kitchen service, and helps deliver memorable hospitality experiences for hotel guests.
Kitchen Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up kitchen equipment and workstations before service.
- Assemble ingredients and prepare simple menu items according to recipes and standards.
- Assist with food preparation for timely service delivery.
- Follow portion control and presentation standards.
- Receive, check, and store deliveries using FIFO and food safety guidelines.
- Maintain clean and organized storage areas.
- Clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and workstations after use.
- Handle waste, recycling, and linen according to hygiene procedures.
Schedule and Hygiene
- Work a flexible schedule based on operational requirements.
- Maintain a hygienic work environment and high standards of personal hygiene.
- Adhere to food safety standards and personal hygiene rules.
- Complete and monitor food safety checklists in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and internal safety protocols.
Teamwork and Development
- Attend all kitchen briefings and participate actively.
- Participate in on-the-job training and skill development sessions.
- Support senior chefs and collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
