Position Summary

Prepare ingredients and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.

Maintain food quality, workstation readiness, kitchen sanitation, equipment temperatures, and safe working practices.

Kitchen Responsibilities

  • Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
  • Prepare and cook food, including cold foods, according to recipes and standards.
  • Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
  • Test food for doneness and monitor quality during preparation.
  • Set up and break down the workstation.
  • Serve food in proper portions using appropriate receptacles.
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Check appliance and food temperatures for correctness.
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
  • No supervisory experience is required.
  • No license or certification is specified.

Workplace

  • The position is based at a Marriott property on Omar Al Mukhtar Street in the Al Dafna area of Doha, Qatar.
