JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai is hiring a Commis 1 for the Main Kitchen. You will prepare and present dishes to high standards, support kitchen operations, and maintain food safety.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and present dishes consistently to the highest culinary standards.
- Support daily kitchen operations and ensure your section is organized and service ready.
- Work closely with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and kitchen team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
- Contribute to menu execution, recipe consistency, and continuous culinary innovation.
- Assist with stock control, food storage, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices at all times.
- Share knowledge, mentor junior team members, and participate in cross training opportunities.
- Monitor product quality and kitchen equipment, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Support smooth kitchen operations by being flexible and assisting other sections when required.
- Uphold the hotel's professional standards, grooming guidelines, and sustainability initiatives.

Position Summary
- Prepare special meals or substitute items.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
- Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish.
- Maintain food logs.
- Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared.
- Communicate assistance needed during busy periods.
- Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials.
- Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items.
- Ensure the quality of the food items.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
- Prepare cold foods.
