Responsibilities

- Assist with mise en place, following recipes and portion controls
- Maintain high hygiene and safety standards, ensuring workstations and equipment are clean and organized
- Collaborate closely with chefs and colleagues, responding to operational needs during service
- Uphold the hotel’s quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction goals

Role Description
- The Commis 1 is a full time, on site role supporting the kitchen team in preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items according to hotel standards and menu specifications.
- Daily responsibilities include assisting with mise en place, following recipes and portion controls, maintaining high hygiene and safety standards, and ensuring workstations and equipment are clean and organized.
- Collaborates closely with chefs and colleagues, responds to operational needs during service, and helps uphold the hotel’s quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction goals.
Qualifications
- Strong food preparation and cooking abilities, supported by solid culinary skills.
- Knowledge of hygiene, food safety standards, and safe kitchen practices.
- Effective communication skills to work smoothly with kitchen and service teams.
- Relevant culinary education or vocational training, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience in hotel, restaurant, or high volume kitchen environments is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and shifts.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Basic English language skills; additional languages commonly used in hospitality are beneficial.
