Commercial Manager

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Drive tender, procurement, and pre-contract commercial strategies.
• Lead commercial negotiations, contract formation, and supplier engagement.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks while maintaining governance compliance.
• Develop contract management frameworks, commercial controls, reporting processes, and governance systems.
• Advise clients and multidisciplinary project delivery teams on commercial matters.
• Manage claims, variations, commercial disputes, contractor performance, and major contract administration.
• Build stakeholder relationships and mentor commercial team members.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and commercial capability growth.

Requirements

• Significant experience in commercial management, contract management, procurement, or a related discipline.
• Experience across renewable energy, energy storage, infrastructure, and water sectors.
• Strong contract negotiation, contract administration, and commercial risk management experience.
• Ability to manage claims, variations, and complex commercial issues.
• Strong commercial acumen and strategic advisory capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring commercial or contract administration personnel.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, law, quantity surveying, construction management, or a related discipline.
