Role Description

  • The Commercial Director is a full time, on site leadership role based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, reporting to the CEO.
  • Responsible for developing and executing the Company's commercial strategy to achieve sustainable revenue growth and strengthen market position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee business development, client relationship management, strategic partnerships, tendering, commercial pricing, contract negotiations, and commercial governance.
  • Lead identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, manage pipeline of current and future projects.
  • Ensure successful preparation of competitive bids and commercial proposals.
  • Oversee contract administration, claims and variation management, commercial performance, and project commercial coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and best commercial practices.
  • Develop commercial policies and procedures, prepare business plans and forecasts, monitor commercial performance.
  • Lead and develop a high performing commercial team to deliver strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related discipline (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive commercial experience within the construction industry, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in business development, commercial strategy, tendering, pricing, contract management, and strategic partnerships.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial negotiations, claims management, and FIDIC principles.
  • Demonstrated success in securing major projects and building long term relationships with government, semi government, and private sector clients.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary commercial teams.
  • Fluency in English required; Arabic proficiency highly desirable.
  • Ability to work on site in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
