Colo Physical Security Architects at AWS work with our Colocation Vendor partners to design safe, secure, resilient, cost-effective Data Center (DC) facilities.

As a Colo Physical Security Architect, you will lead security designs for Colocation DCs throughout our Europe, Middle East and Africa Region and impact AWS global colo data center security standards.

You will be part of a highly creative and efficient design team comprised of Architects, Engineers, and Designers tasked with solving problems and challenging the status quo.

As a subject matter expert, you will provide technical guidance, have a direct impact on the design of Colo data center facilities, solve large-scale implementation issues, and be responsible for developing and communicating security design requirements to internal and external project partners.

As a Colo Physical Security Architect, you will work directly with other AWS Security Teams, AWS Management, and Colo Vendor partners to collaborate in the real-world application of Physical Security throughout AWS.

You will review and be very knowledgeable of new technologies and security measures for possible application to the existing suite of security processes and standards to enhance the security posture across AWS.

You should have a working knowledge of physical security principles and how that relates to practical application and real-world implementation of processes and measures, as well as working knowledge of Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED).

Key job responsibilities

• Lead designs (construction drawings and specifications) for physical security elements (cameras, access control, intrusion detection, fences, gates, etc.) for Colo DC projects.
