Key Responsibilities
- Execute precise sampling, preparation, analysis, and reporting procedures while maintaining the highest accuracy standards.
- Deliver all work on schedule with meticulous attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Maintain complete traceability and integrity of all samples throughout the testing process.
- Proactively support the maintenance and optimal performance of lab and prep equipment.
- Champion a safety-first culture by identifying hazards and promoting best practices across the team.
- Foster seamless communication and knowledge transfer with incoming and outgoing shift teams.
- Take ownership by immediately flagging unsafe or faulty equipment and escalating concerns.
- Conduct routine sampling, preparation, and analysis for shipping and exploration initiatives.
- Strategically plan daily tasks, coordinate sample logistics, and optimize testing schedules.
Requirements
- Experience in coal sampling, preparation, and testing, or within a mineral laboratory environment (preferred but not essential).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Availability to work a 7/7 rotating day and night roster.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in remote locations.
- Current Australian manual driver's licence (preferred).
- Current Standard 11 certification.
- Ability to meet pre-employment medical and fitness-for-work requirements.
