Essential Responsibilities
- Programming of complex aerospace components, experience with NX CAD and CAM preferred.
- Create toolpaths and G-code programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis milling, turning, and mill-turn machines.
- Program a variety of parts made from aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, titanium, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, geometric tolerances, and symbols to meet military and commercial specifications.
- Assist in process development including machine setup, first piece runs and inspection.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and work holding strategies.
- Collaborate with engineers and machinists to optimize machining processes and ensure the highest quality of components.
- Create detailed setup sheets for machine operators and ensure clear documentation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing/machining environment, preferably in aerospace. Knowledge of cutting tools, holders and work holding techniques Knowledge of different types of machines – 3, 4, 5-axis milling, turning, mill-turn Knowledge of different material types – Aluminum, Stainless, Titanium, High Nickel Alloys, etc. Knowledge of common/current material removal processes and techniques
