We're looking for a CNC Machinist (Setup & Operator) to join our afternoon shift team. This role is ideal for someone with strong setup experience who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting machining issues, and producing high-quality parts in a custom manufacturing environment.
As a CNC Programmer / Setup & Operator, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC equipment while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety.
Responsibilities include:
Program CNC machines to manufacture precision components.
Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workholding.
Set up and operate CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Horizontal Mills, and Vertical Boring Mills (VBM).
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.
Develop efficient machining methods to maximize productivity while maintaining quality.
Select cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies appropriate for each job.
Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other metrology equipment.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues.
Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production Control, and Supervisors to resolve manufacturing challenges.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic machine care.
Complete inspection documentation and production records.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in machining processes.
