Designs and writes programs for CNC machines
General Accountabilities
They determine the appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for each
operation.
Troubleshoot and optimize existing programs to improve efficiency and quality
Work closely with machinists, engineers, and other manufacturing personnel to
ensure smooth production
Job Qualifications
Education: Associate’s/Technical certificate that focuses on CNC programmer or
related field preferred but, not required.
Or
Experience: 1-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Complex problem solving
Judgment and decision making
Research and implement new technologies.
