Responsibilities
- Able to prepare CNC machines by setting up tools, calibrating the router, selecting correct bits, and ensuring the machine is ready for production
- Able to prepare cutting files using CAD and 3D software, including checking tool paths, dimensions, and compatibility with shop drawings
- Operates CNC routers to cut MDF, plywood, solid wood, and other joinery materials according to production plans
- Performs machining tasks such as routing, drilling, carving, shaping, and nesting of joinery components
- Reads and understands shop drawings, cutting lists, and material specifications provided by the design team
- Inspects finished components to ensure correct dimensions, clean edges, and compliance with quality standards
- Carries out routine machine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, tool changes, and basic troubleshooting
- Coordinates with production teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of cutting tasks
- Maintains daily production records including machine usage, tool changes, and output quantities
- Follows workshop safety procedures and ensures proper use of PPE and safe machine handling
