CNC Operator

Requirements

• Experience with G code programming and ability to optimize existing programs is a plus.
• Experience in setting up 3- axis CNC mills and lathes in a production environment required
• Experience with setup and machining is a plus.
• Must be familiar with the mechanical function of CNC machines and equipment, to ensure all safety items are in place before operation is started.
• Required to provide necessary tools to perform job, - i.e. micrometers, calipers, and wrenches.
• Must maintain a positive, productive relationship with other workers in the department, supervisor, quality inspectors and shipping.
• The ability to maximize the efficiency of programs to provide greater machine utilization.

• · Vocational or Trade School certificate
• · Experience working with heavy industry
• OSHA compliance training.
• English proficiency. Able to read and write English
• Medical Assessment – ability to pass a post-offer physical examination.
• No alcohol and substance abuse.
• In lieu of the above, any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the aforementioned knowledge, abilities, and skills may be considered at the Company’s discretion.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• The USES category for this position is moderate to heavy. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, as well as talk and hear. Will frequently manipulate parts weighing up to 50 lbs. with the aid of material handling equipment and/or assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Requires manual dexterity and continued use of both hands, use of hand tools, power tools and related equipment. Must be able to bend or twist their body and repeating the same movements during their shift. Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods at a time.

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to working plant machinery, overhead machinery and heavy moving parts. Work environment is an indoor industrial manufacturing plant working in close proximity to hot presses, with open gas burners, ovens, and heated steel stock/parts. The temperature in work area can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the work year. Sharp steel filings and shaving can be found in most work areas. Adequate protective gear is required at all times to avoid injury. Moderate-to-high noise is constant throughout the shift.
