Programs and operates a CMM(s); revises programs to maximize effectiveness and efficiency
Investigates and collaborates with cross-functional team members to resolve manufacturing-related non-conformances or other concerns
Initiates nonconformance records and disposition of parts not meeting requirements
Completes First Article Inspections to AS9102 and company/contractual requirements
Continually strives to improve inspection effectiveness and efficiency by recommending and supporting the implementation of process improvements
Communicates effectively and professionally with internal and external personnel to identify root causes, troubleshoot and address errors and trends, and negotiate the resolution of non-conforming parts and necessary rework or reinspection
May perform other inspections using precision measurement instruments such as mics, calipers, and gauges
Completes other duties as required
Regular attendance on-site at the workplace is required
Five to ten years of technical machining, programming, or similar experience, of which at least two to three years should be in quality assurance ; aerospace industry experience highly preferred
Three years of CMM programming experience in PC-DMIS
Knowledge of customer and industry standards and quality system requirements including AS9100, FAA requirements is desired
Knowledge of problem-solving techniques, (i.e. Statistical Quality Control/Statistical Process-Control, etc.)
Experience in conducting Lean Manufacturing exercises and Six Sigma projects preferred
Demonstrated accuracy in reading and interpreting blueprints, planning and engineering documents, quality standards, customer specifications, and other technical design standards
