Responsibilities

  • The Cluster Conference & Events Sales Manager leads the Conference & Events Sales function to achieve revenue, conversion, and guest satisfaction targets while delivering exceptional service and commercial outcomes. The role is responsible for driving sales performance, managing client relationships, overseeing event enquiries and bookings, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the customer journey. This position provides leadership and direction to the team, supports talent development and succession planning, and works closely with hotel departments to deliver seamless event experiences. The role is also accountable for maintaining Hilton brand standards, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, and contributing to the overall commercial success and culture of the hotel.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Conference & Events Sales team, fostering an engaged, inclusive, and service-focused culture.
  • Drive revenue growth by maximising conference, event, group accommodation, and ancillary sales opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and professional management of enquiries, proposals, contracts, room blocks, and event planning activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, organisers, and key stakeholders to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty.
  • Monitor business performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to and execute the hotel's commercial strategy, ensuring departmental objectives align with overall business goals.
  • Maintain accurate booking, account, and customer information across all sales systems and reporting platforms.
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences by delivering high standards of service throughout the sales and event lifecycle.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career development, and succession planning within the team.
  • Collaborate effectively with operational departments to ensure seamless event delivery and outstanding customer outcomes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service quality, and commercial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Hilton policies, brand standards, and all Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing requirements.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the operational and commercial needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in Conference & Events, Sales, Hospitality, or a related commercial leadership role, with a proven ability to drive revenue, build strong client relationships, and lead high-performing teams. They will possess excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills, coupled with strong commercial acumen and attention to detail. A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences, the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in sales and event management systems are essential. Previous leadership experience within a hotel or hospitality environment will be highly regarded.
