Cloud Solutions Architect

This role is intended for an experienced software engineer with strong cloud and backend development expertise who enjoys building reliable software systems that integrate with industrial equipment. The Senior Cloud & Software Engineer will implement, deploy, and sustain cloud-connected applications, backend services, software infrastructure, and shared technology platforms supporting NOV's Service Equipment product portfolio. Working closely with engineering leadership and system architects, this individual will translate architectural direction into scalable, production-ready solutions while providing technical mentorship, promoting software engineering best practices, and taking ownership of the reliability, maintainability, and continuous improvement of the software platform.

• Develop, maintain, and support cloud-based software platforms and backend services supporting NOV Service Equipment products.
• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, containerized applications, and production software environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate industrial equipment with cloud services, databases, APIs, and enterprise applications.
• Troubleshoot complex software, infrastructure, networking, and system integration issues across development and production environments.
• Establish and promote software engineering best practices including code reviews, testing, documentation, and deployment processes.
• Mentor software engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and collaborative problem solving.
• Develop reusable software frameworks and shared platform capabilities that support multiple product lines.
• Support software validation, release management, and remote deployment activities for production systems.
• Take technical ownership of assigned software platforms and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or applicable experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience developing and supporting production software systems.
• Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Strong experience developing backend software, REST APIs, databases, containerized applications, and modern software development practices.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote engineering environment.
• United State travel Visa preferred.
