Role Overview

Design and Architecture Support

• Partner with Delivery and Solution Architects on workshops, customer requirements, and as-is environment documentation.
• Identify Kubernetes, storage, and backup integration points.
• Document high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, networking, security, and storage or backup design decisions.
• Translate customer Kubernetes needs into implementation plans.

Deployment and Operations

• Design, install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and Portworx solutions using Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts.
• Deploy and operate Portworx Enterprise, PX-Backup, and PX-DR across OpenShift, Rancher, VKS, and other orchestrators.
• Configure underlying storage platforms and optimize solutions for performance, scale, and reliability.
• Lead API and microservices deployment, day-2 operations, monitoring, and alerting.
• Support CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code workflows using tools such as Jenkins, GitOps, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.

Customer Support and Enablement

• Handle initial Portworx break/fix support cases and Request for Enhancement inquiries.
• Collaborate with Support and Product Engineering to resolve customer issues.
• Support validation and testing before production changes and remediate identified issues.
• Deliver knowledge transfer and training to customer teams.
• Maintain communication on project status, risks, and outcomes.

Delivery and Collaboration

• Work within the Advanced Services delivery methodology across the engagement lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Certified Delivery Partners, system integrators, platform teams, and customer or vendor teams.
• Contribute field experience to repeatable procedures, runbooks, and templates.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 10 years of hands-on production Kubernetes deployment and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with containerised solutions, DevOps, cloud-native technologies, enterprise customers, and customer production environments.
• Experience with Kubernetes orchestrators, Linux administration, networking, software-defined storage, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud IaaS, backup, disaster recovery, and object storage.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, adaptability, and collaborative problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills and Certifications

• CKA or CKAD certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Scripting with Bash, Python, or Ruby; virtualization with KVM or VMware; and version control with Git or SVN.
• Monitoring and logging with Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
• Security fundamentals including SSL/TLS, Kubernetes Secrets, and RBAC.
• OpenStorage SDK, highly available databases, data processing platforms, or cloud and Portworx certifications.

Logistics

• The engagement is contract-based, with scope and duration aligned to the Portworx EMEA delivery roadmap.
• The role is based in the UK and requires travel to customer sites across EMEA and Everpure offices, potentially 30% or more.
