Role Overview
The engineer will own the day-to-day health of the Google Cloud environment, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and act as a first line of infrastructure security defense.
Cloud Infrastructure
- Provision and operate Google Cloud compute, managed databases, storage, VPC networking, load balancing, and DNS.
- Define reproducible staging and production environments in Terraform.
- Own backups, restore testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- Set up monitoring, logging, alerting, and cloud cost optimization.
CI/CD
- Build deployment pipelines with Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Containerize services with Docker and manage image registries.
- Implement automated testing gates, staged environments, safe rollbacks, and zero-downtime releases.
- Reduce manual work and document platform operations.
Security
- Enforce least-privilege IAM and support periodic access reviews.
- Manage secrets and keys securely and keep credentials out of code and pipelines.
- Harden systems with firewall rules, network segmentation, TLS, WAF, and patching.
- Run vulnerability and dependency scanning and support remediation and incident response.
Compliance
- Help keep regulated workloads and data hosted inside Saudi Arabia.
- Support alignment with NCA cybersecurity controls and the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law.
- Maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, and audit control evidence.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering.
- Hands-on GCP experience is required; strong AWS or Azure experience with willingness to work on GCP may also be considered.
- Experience with Linux, Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code, Docker, Kubernetes concepts, CI/CD, Bash, and Python is required.
- Knowledge of networking, relational database operations, security controls, and clear English documentation is required.
Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of NCA compliance frameworks and Saudi PDPL or other local regulatory requirements.
- Google Cloud or security certification is advantageous.
- Arabic language skills are advantageous.
