Are you a passionate and experienced nursing professional with expertise in infection prevention and control?

Nepean Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to join our Infection Prevention and Control team and play a pivotal role in safeguarding patient, visitor and staff safety through evidence based infection prevention practices.

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will provide expert clinical leadership, consultancy, education and support across the organisation to minimise healthcare associated infections and promote best practice infection prevention strategies.

Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to surveillance programs, outbreak management, policy development, quality improvement initiatives and staff education to ensure compliance with relevant standards, guidelines and legislative requirements.

What you will bring to the role

• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
• Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience and post graduate qualifications relevant to specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice.
• Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence-based research.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning.
• Ability to apply clinical expertise in patient-centred consultancy, with the ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
