Job Summary

Provide evidence-based nutritional assessment, diagnosis, and therapy for patients across clinical settings.

The role requires dietitian training and credentialing under a recognized Western framework.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments using clinical, biochemical, anthropometric, and dietary data.
  • Develop and monitor individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy plans for varied clinical conditions.
  • Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition support and calculate nutritional requirements.
  • Screen patients at nutritional risk using validated tools.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records.

Collaboration and Programs

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, food services, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide nutrition counseling and education tailored to patient and family preferences.
  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary case discussions.
  • Develop and review therapeutic diet menus.
  • Support accreditation standards, quality improvement, audits, and patient safety programs.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior dietitians, interns, and nutrition students.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited Western institution.
  • Completion of a recognized supervised clinical practice or internship program.
  • Registration or licensure as a dietitian in the home country.
  • Experience with the Nutrition Care Process and Medical Nutrition Therapy protocols.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition science and evidence-based dietetics.
  • Proficiency with nutritional assessment tools and calculation methods.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity, adaptability, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and nutrition-related software.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages such as Arabic are advantageous.

Work Environment

  • The role is based in a hospital, clinic, or rehabilitation center setting.
  • Rotating shifts, weekend coverage, or on-call duties may apply depending on facility needs.
  • The role involves collaboration across nursing, medical, and food service departments.
