Clinical Dietitian

Beloit Health System is seeking a Per Diem Clinical Dietitian to join our Nutritional Support Services Department at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

This position provides professional nutritional assessment, counseling, and support to patients while collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal patient outcomes.

In this position the Per Diem - Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing general and specialized nutrition care for all patients both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

In this position the Clinical Dietitian will:

• Assess patients' nutritional status and develop, implement, and monitor individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) plans.
• Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients identified as being at nutritional risk through established Nutrition Screening Protocols.
• Evaluate patients requiring enteral and parenteral nutrition and provide recommendations to ensure nutritional needs are appropriately met.
• Document nutrition assessments, interventions, recommendations, and outcomes accurately within the electronic medical record.
• Respond to physician consults and referrals regarding patient nutrition concerns and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to communicate patient nutrition status and tolerance to prescribed nutrition therapies.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient nutrition counseling and education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Develop and deliver nutrition-related education and in-service training for dietary staff and other healthcare professionals as needed.
