The Client Development Representative owns customer engagement and expansion within an assigned portfolio of existing customers.
The role combines high-velocity outreach with consultative discovery to identify opportunities and deliver customer and revenue outcomes.
The position is suited to someone developing a sales career who enjoys customer relationships and commercial conversations.
Workplace
- The role is based in the New York City, San Francisco, Vancouver, or Seattle offices.
- The work environment is hybrid, with at least three coordinated office days each week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
- Employees may work fully remotely for up to four weeks per year.
Responsibilities
- Drive daily outreach across email, phone, and social channels to generate qualified expansion pipeline.
- Serve as the primary contact for an assigned customer portfolio and support customer adoption.
- Identify expansion opportunities and connect Brex solutions to measurable business outcomes.
- Lead discovery calls, develop proposals, and negotiate rewards, pricing, and deal terms.
- Build relationships with finance stakeholders and recommend action plans based on customer needs.
- Partner with Underwriting, Deal Desk, and account teams on commercial outcomes.
- Maintain forecasts, CRM records, activity tracking, opportunity qualification, and communications.
- Share customer feedback internally to improve products and customer experience.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of customer-facing experience in sales, hospitality, customer service, or a related field.
- Experience in a general sales role or demonstrated interest in building a sales career.
- Strong urgency, adaptability, communication, collaboration, coachability, resilience, and growth mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with books of business, account health, executive relationships, renewals, expansions, or new-business acquisition is a bonus.
- Familiarity with finance workflows, ERPs, spend management, AP automation, fintech, payments, or credit-card management is a bonus.
- Salesforce, Gong, AI-enabled efficiency practices, and startup experience are advantageous.
Compensation
- The expected on-target earnings range is CAD 82,535 to CAD 92,852 USD, including base compensation and commissions.
- Starting compensation depends on location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity.
- The role is hourly, and overtime is paid when applicable. Equity and other compensation may be offered depending on the position.
