Role Overview
The Client Development Representative owns customer engagement and expansion within an assigned book of existing customers.
The role combines high-velocity outreach, consultative discovery, stakeholder alignment, and customer and revenue outcomes.
The position is designed for someone building a sales career and developing customer relationships through commercial conversations.
Workplace
- The role is based in the New York City, San Francisco, Vancouver, or Seattle offices.
- Brex operates a hybrid environment with at least three coordinated office days per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
- Employees may work fully remotely for up to four weeks per year.
Responsibilities
- Drive daily outreach across email, phone, and social channels to generate qualified expansion pipeline.
- Manage an assigned customer portfolio and help customers get more value from Brex.
- Identify expansion opportunities, lead discovery calls, and negotiate commercial terms.
- Understand customer finance workflows, build relationships with finance leaders, and recommend action plans.
- Partner with internal teams, maintain forecasts and CRM records, and share customer insights.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of customer-facing experience in sales, hospitality, customer service, or a related field.
- Experience in general sales or demonstrated interest in building a sales career.
- Strong urgency, adaptability, communication, collaboration, coachability, resilience, and growth mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with books of business, account health, executive relationships, renewals, expansions, or new-business acquisition.
- Familiarity with finance workflows, ERP systems, spend management, AP automation, fintech, payments, or credit-card management.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or Gong and experience using AI or creative processes to improve efficiency.
Compensation
- The expected OTE range is $73,040 to $86,735 CAD.
- OTE includes base compensation and commissions, which may vary based on performance; equity or other compensation may also be provided.
