Role Overview
Performs custodial duties under the supervision of a Custodial Manager or Supervisor according to established standards, instructions, and procedures.
The position is part-time and works a second shift in an interior building environment.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, wash, and otherwise maintain floors and interior building surfaces using commercial cleaning equipment.
- Vacuum, spot clean, and shampoo rugs in offices and public areas as directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, trim, walls, and other horizontal surfaces.
- Clean windowsills, doors, partitions, specified windows, entrance glass, and associated trim.
- Clean bathrooms, restock paper supplies, empty waste baskets, and service soap and toilet paper dispensers.
- Collect building trash, replace waste container liners, and place refuse in the designated collection area.
- Sweep or shovel snow from entrances, steps, walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
- Monitor facility defects, report issues to supervisors, and perform periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required for the basic cleaning responsibilities.
- Must take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
