Job purpose
Keep buildings clean and orderly.
Perform heavy cleaning duties, routine maintenance-related activities, and facility support tasks.
Notify management when repairs are needed and remove debris from sidewalks.
Cleaning duties
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum building floors.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
Safety and facilities
- Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Monitor building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use.
- Notify managers about major repairs or additions needed for building operating systems.
- Requisition supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance duties.
