- Structural steel design and analysis for drilling and well servicing structures
- Design and upgrade of light and heavy steel structures within the upstream petroleum sector

- Bolted and welded connection design in accordance with AISC requirements
- Structural engineering support for offshore and land rig assets
- Field engineering support and site based problem solving when required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of structural steel design experience within the upstream petroleum industry
- Diploma in Civil Engineering from an internationally accredited university
- Strong understanding of drilling operations and drilling structure design
- Proficiency with one or more of: Bentley SACS, SAP2000, SAFI, Bentley STAAD, StruCAD 3D
- Proficient written and spoken English
- Experience with API Specification 4F for Drilling and Well Servicing Structures
- Experience with AISC ASD structural steel design methodology
- Experience with structural drilling rig design and analysis
- Engineering project management experience

Role Overview
- JSA Loadmaster is seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Design Engineer to support structural design, engineering analysis, upgrades, inspections, and integrity management projects for offshore and land based drilling assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Structural steel design and analysis for drilling and well servicing structures
- Design and upgrade of light and heavy steel structures within the upstream petroleum sector
- Development and review of 3D structural models and engineering drawings
- Bolted and welded connection design in accordance with AISC requirements
- Structural engineering support for offshore and land rig assets
- Field engineering support and site based problem solving when required
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of structural steel design experience within the upstream petroleum industry
- Diploma in Civil Engineering from an internationally accredited university
- Strong understanding of drilling operations and drilling structure design
- Proficiency with one or more of: Bentley SACS, SAP2000, SAFI, Bentley STAAD, StruCAD 3D
- Proficient written and spoken English
Preferred Technical Experience
- API Specification 4F for Drilling and Well Servicing Structures (current and legacy editions)
- AISC ASD structural steel design methodology
- Structural drilling rig design and analysis
Experience Required
- Drilling structures (land rigs, offshore derricks/masts, drillships) including hook load/setback upgrades, drill floor modifications, and pipe handling equipment.
- Offshore and marine structures including ROV systems, hose hangers, and shipping container attachments.
- General structural work: equipment supports, access stairways, repair/reinforcement, and survey assessments.
- Lifting design (spreader bars, padeyes), fabrication drawing review, MTR review, AWS D1.1 welding requirements, and design report preparation.
- Engineering project management experience required.
Preferred
- API 4G (CAT III/IV) and API 8B inspections.
- High pressure piping (ASME B31.3), FEA (ANSYS), fatigue analysis, and DNVGL offshore design (ST E271/272/273).
Advanced Analysis
- Proficiency in stability analysis per AISC 360 16 (Direct, Effective Length, and First Order methods) using SAP2000, SAFI, SACS, or STAAD.
