Civil Inspector (Infrastructure)

Role Overview

Inspection and Coordination

• Ensure construction works comply with plans, specifications, and workmanship requirements.
• Report contractor failures and questionable operating methods to the ARE or RE.
• Coordinate daily with contractor site engineers on proper work execution.
• Coordinate sampling, testing, and quality assurance activities with other discipline inspectors.
• Coordinate line and grade checks with surveyors.
• Process inspection requests and maintain their status records.

Records and Site Conduct

• Maintain detailed daily records of activities, issues, approvals or rejections, operating hours, labor, and equipment.
• Maintain records of contractor work performed on a Day Works basis.
• Interface with the public and adjacent stakeholders to mitigate construction impacts.
• Participate in site health and safety matters.
• Deal with the contractor professionally and firmly.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in road or infrastructure construction supervision and stormwater projects.
• Ability to read shop drawings, method statements, and construction specifications.
• Familiarity with construction processes relevant to the assigned area.
• Computer literacy and ability to use engineering or construction software.
• Good written and oral communication, interpersonal, and project-team interaction skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience on ADM or DMT projects is preferred.

Work Setting

• The role is centered on construction-site inspection, coordination, testing, records, and health and safety activities.
