Civil Inspector (Infrastructure)

Role Overview

What You’ll Be Doing

• Ensure construction works comply with plans and specifications.
• Inspect civil construction works against approved drawings, plans, specifications, and workmanship standards.
• Coordinate with the contractor’s foreman and report non-conformances, questionable methods, or deviations to the ARE/RE.
• Process and track Inspection Requests and maintain approval, rejection, and follow-up records.
• Coordinate sampling and testing with discipline inspectors and laboratories.
• Support QA/QC verification of suspect materials where required.
• Coordinate with surveyors to verify line, level, and grade.
• Maintain daily site diaries and logs covering activities, issues, work status, manpower, and equipment.
• Support quantity measurements and records for Day Works where applicable.
• Interface with adjacent stakeholders to minimize construction impacts.
• Ensure project HSE compliance and promote safe work practices on site.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant experience in infrastructure construction supervision.
• Experience in stormwater and utility projects is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and enforce engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Inspection, reporting, and documentation skills.
• Computer literacy with reporting and project management systems.
• Communication and coordination skills in a site-based construction environment.

• The role is based on a construction jobsite in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
