Civil Inspector

Al Amara Al Sharqiya "AAAS" is a multi-disciplinary firm founded and led by Engineer Ziad El-Samad in 1977 in the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi.

AAAS is currently seeking a site-based Civil Inspector to join our Supervision team in Dubai.

• Act as the Consultant’s frontline site representative, carrying out formal reviews and sign-offs for Contractor Work Inspection Requests (WIR / RFI / IR) across all civil and structural disciplines.
• Inspect the Contractor's works at critical hold and witness points, including earthworks, sub-grade preparation, waterproofing, formwork, reinforcement steel placement, and concrete casting.
• Witness mandatory field and third-party laboratory testing (concrete slump, temperature, cylinder sampling, soil compaction, rebar testing) and verify test certificates against project specifications.
• Verify that on-site materials delivered and installed by the Contractor match the Consultant-approved Material Submittals (MAS/MAR) and storage standards.
• Identify defects, sub-standard workmanship, or unapproved departures from contract documents; initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Consultant Site Observations, tracking the Contractor’s corrective measures until satisfactory closure.
• Conduct daily routine site surveillance, compile objective daily inspection logs with dated photographic records, and report site progress, delays, or issues directly to the Senior Civil Engineer / Resident Engineer (RE).
• Monitor the Contractor’s ongoing operations for adherence to approved Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and site HSE regulations.

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of site experience, with proven expertise working specifically on the Engineering Consultant / Supervision side.
• UAE / GCC site supervision experience is required (with an understanding of Dubai Municipality / local authority requirements).
• Comprehensive knowledge of reinforced concrete inspection, structural detailing, waterproofing systems, and architectural finishes.
• Expert ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference Consultant IFC drawings, approved Contractor Shop Drawings, and technical specifications.
• Solid familiarity with international standards (ASTM, BS, ACI) and standard ITP hold-point procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for logging inspection results and preparing formal reports.
• Strong professional communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
